Listener notes

Every Tuesday we hear from students and listeners as they send in weekly Phenologyobservations.  Our last classroom reports for the year are included in these talkbacks. We've absolutely loved hearing from our student reporters this year and we'll miss them dearly this summer.  Hopefully they will continue to be observant andsend their observations along to us via email! In addition to our student reports, we also heard from Ian, Ed, Harvey and Tom who sent us notes about what they've noticed outside during the past week.

Are you someone who pays attention to the natural world around you? Send along your observations and questions about what you are noticing outside.  We'd love to hear from you. Email or give us a jingle and leave a message at 218.999.9876.  Join our KAXE-KBXE Season Watch Page on Facebook to connect with others in northern Minnesota!

Phenology Talkbacks are made possible by the members of Northern Community Radio and a grant from the U of MN NE Regional Sustainable Development Partnership.

As a mail carrier in rural Grand Rapids, Minn., for 35 years, John Latimer put his own stamp on a career that delivered more than letters. Indeed, while driving the hundred-mile round-trip daily route, he passed the time by observing and recording seasonal changes in nature, learning everything he could about the area’s weather, plants and animals, and becoming the go-to guy who could answer customers’ questions about what they were seeing in the environment.
