Sign up today for the next on-air volunteer training to be held October 23rd from 6:00-8:30 at the KBXE studios in Bemidji.
Volunteers play a big role in making KAXE/KBXE such a great radio station. The real voices of friends and neighbors On The River creates a special connection between host and listener. Now is your chance to join that group of music programmers.
At the October 23rd training, you’ll get enough information to take the next steps into the studio with a current volunteer to observe and learn enough to take the controls as soon as you are ready. You’ll understand the history of Northern Community Radio; the strengths of community radio; and the benefits of a radio station making use of so many volunteers.
As an On The River host, you’ll produce a mix of acoustic and electric, new and old, folk, rock, blues, jazz, and world music to share with KAXE/KBXE’s unique listeners. We’ll help you understand the why behind our formatting to help you think about music in a new way. This is your first step toward volunteering as an on-air host.
