Michael Goldberg

Independent Contributor

Michael Goldberg has a long history with Northern Community Radio and currently is working as an independent contributor/creator of Stay Human.  Stay Human is a mix of music, conversation and spoken word to give us all a little encouragement and can be heard Sunday evenings at 10.

Commentator Michael Goldberg is trying to come up with a decoder ring that will help him translate gobbledygook into something he can understand.  One kind of verbal smokescreen he tries to see through is phony metaphors.  In this piece, he attacks the reckless use of the word “ecosystem”.  His rants and reflections, and work by other area writers, can be heard Sunday nights at 9 pm on Stay Human, words and music for spirit and courage.

Volunteer producer and patriot Michael Goldberg is celebrating Independence Day in all the usual ways, but he threatens to go out and play in traffic.  He says you only have the sovereignty you dare to exercise.  This essay, and essays by other area writers, can be heard on Stay Human, words and music for spirit and courage, Sunday nights at 9 pm.

Sometimes translation isn’t about knowing the vocabulary.  Matthew Miltich tells a story about a bus ride that taught him something about being a foreigner, on his trip to his family homeland in Dalmatia.  Matthew is a writer and musician living in rural Itasca County, and is a frequent contributor to to Stay Human, Sundays at 9 pm, music and spoken word for spirit and courage.

Boomers

Apr 23, 2017

Volunteer producer Michael Goldberg reached a milestone recently.  When he came of age, what was then called the “generation gap” was something he was proud of.  Now that he’s on the other side of it, he’s not so sure.  This essay was broadcast on his weekly program, Stay Human, Sundays at 10 pm.

When he’s not gigging with Clearwater Hot Club, Matthew Miltich can be found in his natural habitat, his home on Clearwater Lake.  In this essay, he considers how his style of dress reflects his life, and how it affects his outlook.  Matthew is a regular contributor to Stay Human, Sundays at 10 pm, music and spoken word for courage and spirit.
