Vertical Malt is Taking Off! Adam Wagner Explains the Business of Malting Barley

Vertical Maltis a craft malting company located in theRed River Valleyin the Crookston area near Fisher MN. They offer a range of malt products including roasted, toasted, and smoked malts made from barley grown on their family farm. Their customers use the malt to brew craft beer.

The Wagner homestead was established in the late 1800s by Julius Wagner. A couple years ago Julius' great-great grandson Adam Wagner, and his father Tim, started a new business together called Vertical Malt. The business uses barley grown on the family farm to supply craft brewers around Minnesota.

In the interview below, Adam explains how he became interested in malting and how Vertical Malt has grown.
